Minnesota United will begin the Group Stage of the MLS Is Back Tournament with a game against Sporting Kansas City, renewing the Nicest Rivalry in Sports for 2020. The Loons will be looking to recapture the offensive brilliance that saw them score the most goals in MLS (8) through the first two weeks against the only team above them in the Western Conference by goal differential. After a disappointing 2019, SKC bolstered their offense with the record-setting acquisition of Mexican international Alan Pulido, who scored two goals and added an assist through two weeks. With results in the Group Stage counting towards the regular season, look for these two clubs vying for pole position in the Western Conference to go at it hammer and tongs to open the tournament.
