MNUFC2, along with MLS NEXT Pro, announced today the schedule and matchups for the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs: The No. 5-seeded Twos are set to travel to face No. 3 Ventura County FC in the Western Conference Quarterfinals on Friday, October 16 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Kick for the game is set for 9:00 p.m. CT.

MNUFC2 finished the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro regular season in fifth place in the Western Conference table, holding a 12-10-6 (W-L-D) record, where they earned a team-record high 45 points and a second-consecutive berth into the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. Forward Darius Randell led the squad with 12 goals scored in regular-season action – the most goals scored in a single regular season in MNUFC2 history.
MNUFC2 and Ventura County FC did not face each other during the 2026 regular season. The last time the two sides squared off was in 2025, and all-time, the Twos hold a 3-1-0 (W-L-D) record against the Southern California side. MNUFC2 was selected by Ventura County during the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs Pick-Your-Opponent for its Western Conference Quarterfinal fixture.
In the Pick-Your-Opponent format, the No. 1-3 seeds in each conference select their opponents for the Conference Quarterfinals (first round) from the No. 5-8/9 seeds, with the No. 4 seed hosting the remaining team. This process will return for the Conference Semifinals, with the highest remaining seed in each conference selecting and hosting an opponent from the two lowest seeded teams.
