Nour_7.3.2025

Two goals at the start of each half by North Texas SC created a challenge that MNUFC2 was unable to recover from, resulting in an eventual 3-1 defeat at North Texas on Thursday night. The Twos now look ahead to their next match, an afternoon fixture against the Real Monarchs on July 13.

2’ (0-1) - The home side struck first after Sam Sarver drove into MNUFC2’s goalkeeper box, passing it to an unmarked Tarik Scott before he tapped in the shot to give North Texas the early 1-0 lead.

12’ - North Texas posed a dangerous threat when Daniel Baran gained possession atop the left corner of the Minnesota 18-yard box. With space to shoot, he took his strike, but Twos’ goalkeeper Kayne Rizvanovich made the diving save, getting merely his fingertips on the ball and forcing a corner kick.

15’ - After a third scoring opportunity by the home side, MNUFC2 went on transition, making a run with the ball deep into North Texas’ defending third and the box. Forward Logan Dorsey ripped a shot from mid-distance that missed just wide of the right post.

23’ - MNUFC2 again created a scoring chance, this time off a build-up play. Dorsey gained possession in the center of the pitch before passing a thru-ball off to midfielder Curt Calov. Calov then quickly fed a pass to Loïc Mesanvi, who was crashing toward goal. He then took a shot, but a North Texas defender made the sliding block to stifle the play.

45’+1’ - MNUFC2 forward Logan Dorsey was substituted out of the match due to an apparent shoulder injury, replaced by attacker Momoh Kamara.

46’ (0-2) - The Texas side scored a second after Sarver connected with a cross into the six-yard box. He then deflected the ball with his foot, chipping it into the net to double the lead early in the second half.

54’ (0-3) - A long ball over the top by the home team resulted in a third goal, where Sarver sent a quick pass into the box, and Scott scored off a sliding shot.

63’ - Twos forward Muba Nour drove the ball deep into North Texas’ defending third, ending up in their box. He passed the ball across the box, connecting with Mesanvi. Mesanvi briefly dribbled before passing off to Kamara, whose shot was blocked by a Texas defender.

68’ - Minnesota nearly scored after Mesanvi controlled a volley atop North Texas’ box, taking a shot from distance only to have the ball hit the crossbar at the upper-right corner and bounce out of bounds.

73’ - MNUFC2 midfielder Curt Calov was shown a second yellow card of the match, resulting in a red card ejection. The Twos played down a man for the remainder of the game.

86’ (1-3) - The Twos scored after midfielder Babacar Niang took a shot from atop the Texas box, where the home keeper, JT Harms, initially made the stop, but the ball escaped from underneath him. Nour was in the right place at the right time and tapped-in the shot.

90’+4’ - The referee determined that defender Britton Fischer’s challenge was a red-card ejection, leaving the Twos with nine players to finish the final moments of the game.
