MNUFC2 fell 1-0 at home to North Texas SC on Friday night despite creating multiple promising chances. The Twos will look to bounce back when they host St. Louis CITY2 on Sunday, May 18 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, with kickoff set for 3:00 p.m. CT.

1’ - MNUFC2 claimed the first dangerous scoring opportunity when defender Kieran Chandler stole the ball and gained possession in the attacking third. He drove to the corner, cut inside, and delivered a pass to the penalty spot, where forward Loïc Mesanvi took a one-touch shot that narrowly missed the goal.

8’ - North Texas SC took the lead in the third-phase of a corner kick, where the ball was passed around until Landon Hickam received the ball outside of the 18-yard box. He took the strike from distance and buried the ball in the back of the net to take the 1-0 lead.

22’ - The Twos continued to pose a threat, this time with Chandler receiving the ball at the top of the 18-yard box and continuing his run. He then sent a pass into the six-yard box to find Mesanvi, who headed the ball just wide to the left of the net.

56’ - MNUFC2 goalkeeper Wessel Speel made a crucial save after North Texas captain Samuel Sarver was fed the ball to the right side of the 18-yard box for a close-range shot, but Speel stuck his foot out, deflecting the shot on goal.

88’ - Minnesota created a close chance on goal after the Twos sent the ball short on the corner kick, finding Calov who chipped the ball to Britton Fischer on top of the six-yard line. Fischer headed the ball back to the middle of the box, where Luke Hille had a shot on goal, pulling the goalkeeper off his line, but a North Texas defender was on the goal-line, to keep the ball out of the net.
