North Texas SC vs. MNUFC2

Choctaw Stadium | Arlington, Texas

4.16.2023 | MLS NEXT Pro Game #4

7:30 p.m. CT (AppleTV - MLS Season Pass)

Starting out your season with a string of road games isn’t exactly the perfect scheduling for any squad. Fortunately, this MNUFC2 squad has handled the challenge perfectly, as they bring an undefeated record and a good amount of momentum into Choctaw Stadium in Arlington to face off with a talented North Texas SC squad this Sunday.

Last Sunday’s 2-1 win over LA Galaxy II has kept Coach Cameron Knowles’ squad atop the MLS NEXT Pro Power Rankings once again. Considering the great performances the Twos have given in each of their first three games of the season, the ranking is well-deserved. But, with a Colorado Rapids 2 squad that’s also undefeated sitting alongside the Loons atop the Western Conference standings, MNUFC2 isn’t about to hit cruise control on the efforts they’ve put in. Especially against a very capable North Texas side that the Twos have yet beat in three previous matchups.

If they plan on registering one in the W column, there’s no doubt that Diogo Pacheco will more than likely have a role in flipping the North Texas script. The mustachioed-midfielder has been a go-to for the Twosies up front having already racked up a team-leading three goals on the season. Along with 2023 SuperDraft pick Emmanuel Iwe and the speedy Molik Jesse Khan, the Twos’ midfield are a dangerous unit when they're on the field together. Hopefully this talented trio can continue to make an impact on the match and keep the North Texas defensive line on its toes.

Speaking of defense, the Twosies have shown just how talented they are through the first stretch of games this season. Last Sunday, it was Britton Fischer who made his presence felt with a total of seven clearances in defeating LA Galaxy II. Plus, in the 66th minute, it was Fischer’s crucial header over the crossbar and out of play that was crucial to the Twosies holding the lead and taking the three points. Hopefully, we’ll see some more clutch playmaking against the North Texas attack this weekend.

MNUFC2’s matchup with North Texas FC kicks off at 7:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, April 16. Watch and see if the Twos can keep their winning streak alive in Arlington, Texas with your MLS Season Pass on the AppleTV app.
