1. My biggest hero(s) are …
“My dad. Everything that me and my brothers accomplished came from the morals that he gave us growing up, and the hard work ethic. And just the mentality that nothing comes without hard work. I think as you get older and you kind of look back at those kinds of things, you really start to understand them more. I think the older I get, the more of my hero he becomes.”
2. Something on my bucket list is …
“I want to see either the Champions League final or the World Cup final. Especially with the World Cup coming in a few years or however long it is, I think that will be fun.”
3. The best piece of life advice I have received is …
“Mine would go back to when I was younger. More than just a certain phrase that happened, it was just through my childhood, growing up playing football, I think a good memory I have is showing up to practice and seeing a lot of my teammates – obviously, we’re kids – so, a lot of my teammates goofing around every once in a while. And, my dad, if I would partake in that sometimes, he would say, you know, you’re here to give your best and work as hard as you can.”
4. My daily ritual is …
“I don’t really have one. I mean, I have a little bit of a routine in terms of getting ready for a day of training and all that. But, as far as after that, I just try and figure out what I’m going to do for the rest of the day after as it comes.”
5. My favorite family tradition is …
“My family just has a lot of meals together. Especially on the weekends. Obviously, when most people are off. So whether it’s Sunday afternoons or Saturday afternoons, we get together. And I have a lot of family in Reno, a lot of cousins as well, so that’s one of my favorite parts of being home.”
6. The significance behind my number is …
“Mine is kind of personal. I had an older brother that passed away a few years ago and number 89, his birth year was 1989, so that’s pretty much it. My brother was my biggest supporter as well. I just felt like I had to use that way to represent him.”
7. Something I couldn’t go a day without …
“I would maybe say music. I think, just naturally, not really consciously, I just put music on and I listen to all genres. At some point throughout the day, I’m listening to music and I think it’s one of my favorite parts of the day.”
8. My favorite memory from Reno FC is …
“I think for me, even though playoffs didn’t go as well as we wanted, I think, personally, I was really impressed by the way every single one of our teammates carried themselves throughout those last two weeks that we were able to be together. I really noticed a difference in everyone’s level and everyone’s professionalism. So that kind of really stuck with me as far as every person and obviously including Foster [Langsdorf] and Sam [Gleadle] and the way that they stepped up as well as every single guy individually. It was really inspiring, to be honest.”
9. My go-to music I listen to when I’m driving is …
“Like I said, I listen to music, especially now, for long parts of the day. So, I’ll flip through a bunch of different genres and don’t really have anything that’s my go to. I think I go through phases a little bit more. But right now, I’d say a lot of reggaetón is on.”
10. I’m proud of myself because …
“Reno obviously had the USL club in the last four years, but, before that, there was not a lot of players coming out of there. I’ve always been really proud to represent that part of Nevada and be the first and an example of where anybody can get no matter where you’re from.”
