It's rivalry week, and Minnesota United heads south on I-35 to take on their southern neighbors, Sporting Kansas City, in the Nicest Rivalry in Sports. Sporting Kansas City rebounded from consecutive defeats to knock off the San Jose Earthquakes, 2-1, at home Saturday night to move to within six points of the playoff line in the West. Second in the West, Minnesota United rallied to earn a 1-1 draw against Orlando City SC at Allianz Field last Saturday night. MNUFC defeated Sporting KC earlier this year in the U.S. Open Cup 4-1 at Allianz Field in the Fourth Round of play. Moving into arguably the toughest part of its schedule, Minnesota United needs to continue to carry momentum forward and pick up results as the season end draws near.
