An international friendly in the midst of the busiest stretch of the season should allow the Loons plenty of room to turn over the roster and give some new players a run out on the pitch as Minnesota United welcomes newly promoted Premier League side Aston Villa to Allianz Field. Aston Villa was founded in 1874 and has spent 105 seasons in the top tier of English football, second only to Everton with 114, and were the first club to wear claret and blue as their colors. Minnesota United head coach played for the Lions in 1989-90, and with Allianz Field opening just this year, will be the first Premier League side to play in the stadium.
Food Trucks
Starting at 4:30 p.m., there will be food trucks available outside of the stadium for those fans looking to grab something to eat before heading into Allianz Field. Food trucks slated to join us include: My Burger and West Indies Soul Food.
