MINNESOTA UNITED HEAD COACH ADRIAN HEATH

On how much winning a game in the last minute lifts a group of players …
“Well, you know, one thing we know, confidence breeds everything in football. The fact that we put in such a good second half display — which, I thought we were excellent — I thought we did enough to win the game. And, yeah, there’s been a good mood within the group. You know, we’re at that stage in the season where every win becomes crucial. We’re all playing each other. Another big game on Wednesday against Colorado, and, we know how important that’s going to be. But, no, there’s nothing like actually winning a game of football to give players confidence.”

On psychologically, how much the win at Cincinnati will do for the group heading into the final stretch of games …
“Well, yeah, as I said, it’s confidence, the one thing that’s difficult to give players, you know, there isn’t a magic wand that says, here we go, let’s give you some confidence. What we do know is playing well and winning games, that breeds an infectious sort of confidence within the group. And that’s what we’ve had today. You know, a really good group and the lads were in good spirits. We know we’re in this final sort of hurdle of the season. What’s been a really difficult season. But the win at the weekend put us in a really good spot. But it won’t count for an awful lot if we don’t back that up with another three points on Wednesday.”

On Colorado and what to expect given the unique nature of their situation …
“It’s been a really tough stretch for them. There’s no getting away from that. But, they’ll obviously be better for that game at the weekend. Obviously, going to Kansas is never easy, they’re a very, very good team. The league table doesn’t lie, that’s why they’re at the top of the table. It was always going to be a sort of baptism by fire, if you like, for them to get back on. Not only back playing, but back on the road away at Kansas. I think they’ll actually be better for that 90 minutes under their belt. And, Robin [Fraser] has done a great job since he’s been there. We expect them to come and be difficult because they are in a situation like us where every point now is precious in these last little couple of weeks of the season.”

MINNESOTA UNITED FORWARD AARON SCHOENFELD

On his first goal with MNUFC…
“I’m just happy to win. We all know the position we’re in, a tight race to get into the playoffs, and we knew we had to start getting three points in a couple games. So I’m just happy to help the team get some momentum going forward.”

On how his experience winning a title in Israel will help the locker room down the stretch…
“You know, I’m one of the older players here and just try to guide and try to help people from what I’ve seen over the years. Trying to give some experience to the group.”

MINNESOTA UNITED MIDFIELDER JAN GREGUS

On getting back out on the field after leaving for international duty with Slovakia…
“I was very happy. Of course I had to stay in quarantine for a few days so I had to train alone with Sean [McAuley] and Ian [Fuller] but it was great sessions. Happy to be back with the team and happy that we won the game.”

On playing alongside Osvaldo Alonso after not doing so since September 6…
“It’s been a while and, like I said, I’m happy that we managed to win even if it’s last minute.”

On the importance of the victory over FC Cincinnati and facing the Colorado Rapids Wednesday…
“We’re going to see the video and analyze the team but, obviously very important. That’s what we aim for, is the win in every game and this one is no different. We’re going to play our best and hope to win the game.”
