Finlay and Molino Highlight Team of the Week

2020 Team of the Week Week 1

After taking down the Portland Timbers on the road on Sunday, Kevin Molino and Ethan Finlay have earned spots on the first MLS Team of the Week of the season. The midfield duo both contributed to multiple goals on Sunday, linking up on the final tally in the 3-1 win.

This is Molino’s first Team of the Week appearance since 2017, when he featured three times. The Trinidad and Tobago international scored twice in the second half against the Timbers, scoring the opener by finishing off a rebound. He got his brace by smashing home a volley that was served up by Finlay.

Finlay makes his first MLS Team of the Week appearance since Week 12 of the 2019 season. He got his first assist of the night with a cross that was headed home by Luis Amarilla for his first MLS goal and the eventual game-winner. The Duluth native provided his second helper just minutes later with an overhead flick to Molino that would ice the game and secure three points.
