1. My favorite meal is …

“English Sunday Lunch. Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, carrots … Everything.”

2. I’m currently binge watching this …

“I’m just finishing the last season of Peaky Blinders.”

3. Something that’s on my bucket list …

“India. I want to go see the Taj Mahal. I want to go and visit India for a lot of different reasons but I’d like to see all the history from the old days.”

4. The coolest place I have lived …

“Barcelona. Everything that you need in a city. Awesome people, incredible architecture. Weekends, you could be at the beach and an hour and a half [later] you could be skiing. The night life, incredible restaurants and fantastic weather. It doesn’t get much better.”

5. I’m scared of …

“Snakes. Especially the big ones. The thought of being eaten by a python, and they get around you and get real tight … It gives me the creeps, that one, I got to be honest.”

6. My everyday routine looks like …

“Well, my work routine … I get up at the same time, 6:45 a.m. every day, and out of the house by 7:00 a.m., bring a cup of tea with me. Listen to my messages, obviously because of the time difference, I end up with 20 different messages from the UK or Europe. So I listen to them on the way to work. Sit down and have a bit of breakfast with the staff and prepare for the next day.”

7. The best life advice I have ever received …

“You’ll get out of life what you put into life. My grandfather used to say to me, ‘I don’t care whether you are going to be a road sweeper, be the greatest road sweeper you can be,’ and I think I have pretty much tried to adhere to that.”

8. One of my pet peeves is …

“Poor Italian food. Not always difficult, even I can make and cook pasta. I hate going to restaurants and getting charged the absolute earth for stuff I wouldn’t eat at home.”

9. My favorite thing to shop for is …

“I’ve always liked really expensive clothes. And since I have been with my wife, been looking at woman’s expensive clothes. Also, we’re into a lot of décor, so we like nice pieces of furniture and we like to go to antique stores and things like that.”

10. I’m proud of myself because …

“I met a school teacher when I was 14 years of age and he completely changed my life. He said to me, ‘You can be whatever you want to be in life. You have that much talent,’ and nobody had ever said that to me before. And he said, ‘You can be whatever you want to be if you dedicate yourself to it,’ and that’s what I tried to do. It was a life-changing moment for me. And it was a life-changing moment for people in my class. He influenced the whole school. He was an incredibly positive guy and from where I was from, everybody either went to coal, to steel or to the military. ‘Cause that’s the type of town it was, a real blue-collar town. And he said, ‘You don’t have to do that, just because your dad did it and your grandparents.’ He made me believe that. I think the career that I’ve had is down to him.”
