Game Central

Minnesota United is back on the road for a clash with the Portland Timbers in the national spotlight. The Timbers enter the game after facing New York Red Bulls on Wednesday and suffering a tough loss to D.C. United on the weekend. Portland has struggled to find form at their newly renovated home, but a plethora of attacking options makes the team extremely dangerous on the break. Confident after a big win against Real Salt Lake, the Loons try to cement their spot in the postseason with a victory at Providence Park, a venue where they have yet to claim a point. Currently with a five-point cushion above the playoff line, Minnesota’s main objective now is to hold on to a top-four spot and the home playoff game that comes with it.
