For an unprecedented seventh time this season, Ike Opara represents MNUFC in the MLS Team of the Week for Week 24. He features for the first time since Week 22 after helping the Loons take four points from two games.

Opara began his week helping the Loons to a clean sheet win against the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday at Allianz Field. He made a clearance off the line to keep the Rapids off the board in the first half and nearly scored a powerful header to put the game away in the final minutes. He was a major threat in the air in Saturday night’s draw against Orlando City SC, winning five challenges with his head and getting two headed chances towards goal.
