The USL Championship squad has earned its “giant killer” reputation by eliminating two MLS teams already in this tournament, FC Dallas and Colorado Rapids, with both results coming on the road. The Loons’ Open Cup form has sparked the squad into one of its best runs of form in club history, winning all five of its last competitive games with 20 goals in that run. Despite not winning a league game since May 25, New Mexico’s Cup results have fans dreaming of Champions League glory.
