Minnesota United’s U13 team traveled to the Chicagoland area this past weekend to face two teams: Chicago Fire Soccer Academy on Saturday and Campton United SC on Sunday. The U15s headed east as well, traveling to North Royalton, Ohio, to face their counterparts from Internationals Soccer Academy. The U14s’ game against Chicago Fire would end in disappointment following Carlos Nevarez’s goal in the 24th minute for the home side. Despite a valiant effort, the Loons couldn’t battle back to level the score and would leave without a result.

Sunday, May 19
10:00 a.m. | Campton United SC vs. U13 | 0-3

The U13 team saw their fortunes turn in their second game of the weekend against Campton United. Charlie Piller opened the scoring for the visitors with a goal in the 34th minute. Meanwhile in Ohio, the U15s squared off against Crew SC Academy a day after the first team defeated Columbus 1-0 at Allianz Field. Carlos Leatherman put another in in the 35th minute and Micah Burton followed that up with one of his own in the 50th minute. William Bencic got one back for the home side in the 64th minute but couldn’t spark the comeback, with MNUFC leaving with a 3-1 win.
