Jerome Thiesson Receives Green Card

Minnesota United defender Jerome Thiesson has received his U.S. green card, the club announced today. The Zurich, Switzerland native no longer occupies an international spot on the Loons’ roster.

Thiesson, 30, joined MNUFC in February 2017 after competing in the Swiss Super League. He played a pivotal role for the Loons in their inaugural season, scoring twice and assisting on three more in 33 MLS games played (33 starts). Additionally, he led all MNUFC players in appearances, consecutive appearances and minutes played and earned a spot on the Team of the Week in Week 21. So far in 2018, Thiesson has featured in 10 matches (10 starts), contributing one assist in the 3-2 defeat at San Jose Earthquakes.
