Minnesota United’s Darwin Quintero has wasted no time making his mark in MLS, earning a spot on the MLS Team of the Week for Week 7. He is the third Loon this season to make the Team of the Week, joining Ethan Finlay (Week 2) and Sam Nicholson (Week 3).

Quintero was a vital part of Minnesota’s attack in its match against Portland over the weekend. He set up his first goal for the club with excellent dribbling and finished it with a perfectly placed shot in the 64th minute. The Colombian also played the ball in to set up an own goal and draw Minnesota within one goal late in the match.

His dribbling ability created openings all over the pitch, as he completed seven take-ons to beat the Portland defenders. He also made three key passes to cause havoc in the Timbers’ box and set up chances for his teammates
