With a pair of goals that propelled Minnesota United to a victory this weekend, midfielder Ethan Finlay has been named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 2. This is Finlay’s first appearance in the Team of the Week since coming to Minnesota.
Finlay got his first goal just 12 minutes into the match against Orlando City SC on Saturday. After receiving the ball from Christian Ramirez, he headed it back to Kevin Molino for a quick return ball behind the Orlando defenders. Perfectly toeing the offside line allowed Finlay to be one-on-one with the goalkeeper and set up an easy finish.

He netted his second as the match entered its final minutes. A deft touch from rookie forward Mason Toye created space for Miguel Ibarra to make a run into the box. Ibarra served up a perfect cross to the foot of Finlay for the tap in, giving Minnesota a lead it would hang on to for the win.
