We’re in the business of giving your Loons some love here on mnufc.com no matter the weather — surprise, surprise. Fortunately, your Loons haven’t lacked fighting spirit through all of this season’s ups and downs, and with nearly a full year’s worth of stats to look back on and a shot at a postseason berth still in the cards, the work they’ve put in is evident across the board.Â
But there’s one player whose numbers stand out a bit more than the rest, and it’s about time he got a Storylines spotlight of his own, wouldn’t you say?
After a stop-start beginning to 2026 saw Loons striker Kelvin Yeboah score eight goals in his first 18 games, the Leagues Cup break saw him emerge with a new fire under him, crushing his own personal bests — alongside club standards as well. I’ve broken down his impressive year and thrown some context around the numbers, so get yourself ready for an overwhelming number of stats.Â
No Matter How You Slice It
For all of the things he brings to the club, Yeboah was brought in for one primary purpose: Score some freaking goals. And my word, has he delivered — better than anyone in club history, in fact.
Among players who have scored at least 10 goals for the Loons, Yeboah boasts the best goals-to-minutes ratio, scoring 39 goals across 5,913 minutes in all competitions. That’s nearly a goal every 151 minutes, beating out the likes of Tani Oluwaseyi (168 minutes per goal) and even Christian Ramirez (189 minutes per goal). From a sheer volume standpoint, Yeboah is tied with Loons-legend Robin Lod on 39 goals in all competitions — and he’s done it in 6,813 fewer minutes. That’s the equivalent of almost 75 games.
Yeboah’s next regular-season goal will tie him with Lod for the club’s all-time regular-season scoring record and will give him the lead in the standings across all competitions, making him the first player to score at least 40 goals for the Boys in Black and Blue. By now, you’d probably just believe me when I tell you it’s been his most productive season in the league, but you know how much I love stats, so I’m going to throw a few more at you.
When he joined MNUFC in the summer of 2024, he started life in Black and Blue with a brace against Seattle. He went on to finish the season with seven goals and one assist in 711 minutes, giving him a goal contribution every 89 minutes. Then, in 2025, he produced greater overall numbers at a lower rate, ending the year with nine goals and three assists in 2,045 minutes (170 minutes per contribution). Now, he’s put it all together in just his second full season in MLS, with 17 goals and 4 assists in 2,196 minutes (104 minutes per contribution), and he’s not done yet.
Memory, Stay in Your Lane
While the likes of Marcus Caldeira (7) or Anthony Markanich (8) could certainly get close to Yeboah’s season tally, it’s unlikely that any of his teammates will overtake him for the season-high in 2026. He surpassed the club’s single-season record a few games ago when he notched his 15th of the year, overtaking Christian Ramirez’s tally of 14 goals in the club’s inaugural MLS season in 2017. Now — to put his accomplishment in context — it feels right to present a little list for you. Let’s walk down memory lane together to appreciate just how unprecedented his season has been for the Black and Blue:
MNUFC Regular-Season Leading Scorers:
- 2017 - Christian Ramirez, 14 goals
- 2018 - Darwin Quintero, 11 goals
- 2019 - Darwin Quintero, 10 goals
- 2020 - Kevin Molino, 9 goals
- 2021 - Robin Lod, 9 goals
- 2022 - Emanuel Reynoso, 10 goals
- 2023 - Teemu Pukki, 10 goals
- 2024 - Bongokuhle Hlongwane, 11 goals
- 2025 - Tani Oluwaseyi, 10 goals
- 2026* - Kelvin Yeboah, 17 goals*
*Ain’t done yet: More to come.
With four games left, Yeboah has already smashed the club’s goal scoring standard, and he’s not done yet. Since returning from the World Cup break, he’s scored nine goals in 841 minutes — a rate of about a goal every 93 minutes. That means that not only does he have his first 20-goal season well within his sights, but it’s actually statistically likely to happen. And that’s just regular-season goals, folks.
Regardless of how the Loons finish the regular season, Yeboah’s 2026 has hands down been the best goal-scoring year in club history already and is a credit to his professionalism and abilities. He scored a PK against Houston two weeks ago: Now, we’ll have to wait and see how he’ll find the back of the net again this weekend.
