What a weekend. For the seventh-consecutive competitive match, your Loons scored multiple goals in a game, taking down the San Jose Earthquakes with a 4-1 scoreline that saw the Black and Blue get the best out of everyone. Even as the whole team shone, two standouts emerged. Congrats to both Tani Oluwaseyi and Kelvin Yeboah on their inclusion in Team of the Matchday 24!

For our Canadian international, this inclusion marks his fifth such honor of the season and his first since Matchday 17. His early goal set the tone for a superb win at home, showing off his positioning and instincts in front of goal. Each of his assists came as a result of his ability and willingness to do the hard work for his teammates, serving in inch-perfect passes for clean finishes. Saturday’s performance was among his best this season, with three fantastic goal contributions spread across two brilliant halves.

On the other side of the front line, this is Yeboah’s third inclusion in TOTM. The Loons’ DP has been on a resurgent run as of late, rediscovering the scintillating form that he started the season with and catching up to his strike partner in the leading goalscorer race. His smart header before the half showcased his finishing range while demonstrating the potential of his partnership with Oluwaseyi. With four goals in his last four games, Yeboah is among the hottest attacking threats in the league right now.

As the Loons prepare for the home stretch of the regular season, Head Coach Eric Ramsay will be pleased to see this dynamic striker partnership firing on all cylinders once again. With a high-powered attack sitting in front of one of the league’s most disciplined backlines, it’s shaping up to be a special year for the Boys in Black and Blue.
