MNUFC2 Signs Defender Britton Fischer

Welcome Britton Fischer Graphic

MNUFC2 announced today that the club has acquired defender Britton Fischer from North Carolina FC of USL League One to a two-year MLS NEXT Pro contract.

“What we like about Britton is that he is a young player that’s already had two years of professional football experience, one as a signed professional and one as an academy player playing in a professional league,” said MNUFC2 Head Coach Cameron Knowles. “He’s a great kid, his attitude is excellent, his quality on the ball is really good and he has an imposing physical profile. For all of that at 19 years old, the fact that we can add him is great.”

Fischer, a 19-year-old center-back from Greenville, North Carolina, joins MNUFC2 from North Carolina FC of USL League One, where he appeared in 30 matches between 2021 and 2022. Fischer made his professional debut in May 2021 during a 0-0 draw against the Richmond Kickers. Prior to his time with NCFC’s senior team, the defender was a member of the North Carolina FC Academy in 2019. He has competed in both the USYS National League Regional Playoffs and the ECNL National Playoffs. Notably, Fischer won NCFC’s Hamilton Sportsmanship award, an honor annually awarded to players who represent sportsmanship on and off the pitch.
