Minnesota United announced today that the club has loaned defender Devin Padelford to Red Bull New York through the end of 2026. In exchange for sending Padelford to New York, Minnesota received the Discovery Priority for defender Cherrion Valerius. His loan deal was completed prior to the close of the Secondary Transfer Window.
“Devin’s loan with Red Bull New York provides him with an excellent opportunity to continue his development and gain valuable playing time in a high-level environment,” said MNUFC Interim Sporting Director Hank Stebbins. “We wish Devin the best of luck during his time in New York.”
Devin Padelford joined Minnesota United as the club’s third Homegrown Player in 2022, and signed a contract extension earlier this year. Since 2022, the defender has made 61 First-Team game appearances (31 starts) in over 3,000 minutes played with Minnesota United across all competitions.
