The Minnesota United Development Academy U13 and U14 teams wrapped up the fall phase of their season this past Sunday with a visit to Indiana Fire Academy. The teams will continue training four days a week at NSC through mid-December, take a four-week break and then begin training again with futsal in January and February. MNUFC U13 vs. Indiana Fire Academy U13
The U13s kicked off the day with a morning match and got on the board early with a goal by Micah Burton in the 4^th minute. Cooper Ljewski followed that up with another goal for the Loons in the 8^th minute. Just before the half, David Hernandez would make it 3-0 in favor of the visitors. Indiana would get one back on a goal by Ramiere Johnson in the 59^th minute, but the home side couldn’t mount a comeback and Abdulsalam Akinola put the icing on the cake for MNUFC with a goal in the 70^th minute to give them a comfortable 4-1 win.

MNUFC U14 vs. Indiana Fire Academy U14
The U14s got a similar result in their afternoon match despite falling behind in the third minute after a penalty kick goal by Indiana’s Allan Rodriguez-Lopez. An own goal by the home team just before the half would draw MNUFC level, and then the Loons opened the floodgates with a pair of goals in the 41^st and 45^th minutes by Morgan Olson and Jacob Thao. Up 3-1, MNUFC controlled the second half play and added a fourth goal in the 58^th minute from Daniel Lainsbury for a 4-1 victory.

The MNUFC Development Academy is adding a U11 group to its already established U12 group this winter. The U12 program adds focused training to the player’s work with his home club and includes two competitive events. The U11 program will be training-focused in its first phase and includes the opportunity to train with and play against the older Pre-DA pool and even the younger MNUFC Development Academy team.
