MNUFC Announces Countdown to Kickoff Schedule of Events

With the start of the 2024 MLS season quickly approaching, Minnesota United announced today the club’s Countdown to Kickoff – a schedule of events leading up to the Season Opener on February 24 and the Home Opener, presented by SeatGeek, on March 2 at Allianz Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

MNUFC is set to begin its Countdown to Kickoff with the Kit Reveal, presented by Target, of the club’s newest threads on Friday, February 16. The next day on February 17, fans can gather teams to compete in the Boot Soccer tournament, presented by Coors Light, on the Great Lawn outside of Allianz Field. Fans can then attend a Watch Party, also presented by Coors Light, for the Austin FC away game on Saturday, February 24 at Brit’s Pub in downtown Minneapolis. Ahead of the first home game, the club will host Open Training, presented by NutriSource, on Tuesday, February 27 at Allianz Field where fans and media can watch a first-team training session. Capping off the Countdown to Kickoff will be the Second Annual Bangers-Only Ball, presented by Wild State Cider, at the iconic First Avenue music venue on Thursday, February 29, with Lupin as the headline artist.

Preseason Match Streaming, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota – February 14 & 17Fans can watch the live stream of two of Minnesota United’s preseason contests during the Coachella Valley Invitational. First, the Loons take on Chicago Fire FC at 4 p.m. CT on Wednesday, February 14. Then, Minnesota faces Charlotte FC on Saturday, February 17 at 12 p.m. CT. Both matches are set to be streamed on mnufc.com/coachella-stream. Minnesota United’s preseason streaming is presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota.

2024 Kit Reveal, presented by Target – February 16MNUFC’s newest kit is set to be unveiled on Friday morning, February 16. The Black and Blue Team Store at Allianz Field will be open starting at 8:00 a.m. CT. Notably, the first 200 fans to purchase the new jersey will receive a limited-edition kit reveal patch, and the first 150 fans to purchase an authentic jersey at the team store (or team store pickup) will receive two tickets to the home game versus LAFC on March 16. Later in the evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. CT, fans at Allianz Field will be treated to a light show in celebration of the kit reveal. As a part of the light show, fans will be able to interact with experts from the University of Minnesota Institute of Astrophysics while stargazing into the night sky.

Boot Soccer, presented by Coors Light – February 17Allianz Field will yet again host the Boot Soccer tournament on the Great Lawn outside of the stadium from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CT. Fans interested in playing can enter as a part of a team, or as an individual person. The Grand Casino Brew Hall will be open throughout the event, where a watch party for the preseason match against Charlotte FC will also take place. Intercontinental Loon Call Championship Series Contest – February 7

The Intercontinental Loon Call Championship Series begins at 2:00 p.m. CT on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 and ends at 5:00 p.m. CT on Monday, March 18, 2024. Fans can enter and submit a video of themselves doing their best loon call at mnufc.com/looncall. Finalists will be invited to perform their loon call live at an early-season home game, where a panel of judges will determine the ultimate winner of the competition. The winner of the Grand Prize will receive a new 2024 MNUFC kit, signed by first-team players.

TC Winter SOLstice Futsal Tournament – February 19In collaboration with SOL of the Cities, Minnesota United is set to host the TC Winter SOLstice Futsal Tournament on Monday, February 19 at Adrenaline Sports Center in Ramsey, Minnesota. Season Opener Watch Party, presented by Coors Light – February 24The Loons travel to face Austin FC at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas on Saturday night, February 24. Fans in the Twin Cities can join the Watch Party at Brit’s Pub in downtown Minneapolis, with kick set for 7:30 p.m. CT. During the watch party, fans will be treated to an in-house DJ along with an appearance from Loons’ mascot PK and the Allianz Field stadium public address announcer. Doors are open for the Watch Party starting at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Open Training, presented by NutriSource – February 27Minnesota United is set to host an open training session, presented by NutriSource, on Tuesday, February 27 where fans and media are invited to watch the first team train on the Allianz Field pitch ahead of the Home Opener on March 2. Bangers-Only Ball, presented by Wild State Cider – February 29MNUFC will host the Second Annual Bangers-Only Ball, presented by Wild State Cider, at the iconic Minneapolis music venue, First Avenue, on Thursday, February 29 to celebrate the arrival of the Home Opener against the Columbus Crew. Lupin is set as the headline act of the evening, with Miloe confirmed as the opening artist. Additionally, select first-team players will also make an appearance for a meet-and-greet opportunity. Single-game tickets for the 2024 season will go on sale later this week, beginning with a series of exclusive presales for MNUFC insiders. Itasca Members will gain access on Thursday, February 8 at 10:00 am, followed by Season Ticket Members at noon, and members of The Preserve at 2:00 pm. The following day, Friday, February 9, subscribers to the MNUFC e-newsletter will gain early presale access at 10:00 am, before tickets go on sale to the general public at noon.
