BLAINE, Minn. (June 28, 2025) – MNUFC2 came out firing on all cylinders, scoring within the first minute and capping off a strong team performance with a second-half strike to earn a 2-1 victory over Colorado Rapids 2 at home. The win, highlighted by a standout performance from Curt Calov and a debut goal from new signing Momoh Kamara, marks the Loons’ return to winning ways at home. With momentum building, Jeremy Hall’s squad now shifts focus to a midweek road clash against North Texas SC on Wednesday, July 3.

1’ (1-0) - Within the first minute of play, MNUFC2 struck first to take an early lead against Colorado Rapids 2. After earning a corner kick off a misplaced clearance by Rapids 2, MNUFC2’s Curt Calov delivered a ball into a jam-packed penalty area and found the head of Luke Hille, helping Jeremy Hall’s side jump out in front.

6’ - MNUFC2 continued to pose a threat as Hille received possession in the attacking third after a defensive mistake and quickly passed to Troy Putt on the right flank. Putt carried the ball a few meters down the line and attempted a switch, but a Rapids 2 player tried to clear it. The ball deflected back to Hille at the top of the 18-yard box, where he attempted a volley that ended up in Zack Campagnolo’s hands after a diving save.

22’ - After a giveaway in Colorado Rapids 2’s attacking third, Putt quickly launched a counterattack with the help of Hille and Logan Dorsey. Putt then dribbled into Colorado’s defensive third and played a ball across Colorado’s backline that resulted in a shot on goal from MNUFC2’s Hille. Hille’s shot was cleared off the line by Colorado’s Kofie Senanou, which resulted in the ball bouncing out to Calov. Calov then glided past Colorado’s Jaden Chan Tack and struck a shot on frame, forcing a second consecutive save out of Campagnolo.

62’ - After a push from behind, Muba Nour drew a penalty kick. Hille stepped up to take the shot, aiming for the bottom right corner, but Campagnolo made the save. The ball rebounded back into play before Anderson Rosa cleared it out for a corner.

72’ (2-0)- MNUFC2 doubled their lead midway through the second half with a goal from new signing Momoh Kamara. After a quick string passes between Kieran Chandler and Ty Perkins, Perkins found Calov in between Colorado’s defensive and midfield lines, allowing Calov to turn and run at The Rapids backline. Calov quickly dribbled towards the top of the penalty area, laying the ball off to Kamara, who tucked the ball into the top left corner past Colorado’s Campagnolo.

90+3 (2-1) - Colorado Rapids 2 got a goal back in the third minute of extra time. The attack began with combination play between Josh Copeland and Malik Pinto in MNUFC2’s defensive third, which lead to Copeland springing a ball out to the left flank to find James Cameron. Cameron then crossed the ball into the penalty area back to Copeland who’s first time shot struck the right post and bounced to the feet of Billo Diop, who shot the ball into the top of the net for a Colorado goal.
