Fresh off a win in new head coach Eric Ramsay's first game, the Loons now look to a midweek match against St. Patrick's Athletic for their next test. With no league game this weekend, the international friendly comes at a good time for the boys in Black and Blue to keep them sharp as they seek to stay on top of the Western Conference. St. Pat's comes to St. Paul from Inchicore, a suburb of the Irish capital, Dublin. They bring with them a long and storied history, having formed nearly a century ago in 1929 and winning their fair share of league and cup titles. The Saints have the special designation of never having been relegated from the first division of Irish soccer since reaching it in 1959, and they even won the league title in their first year of top-flight football. Make sure to stop by Nice Slice in sections 12 and 29 to try our Crispy Reuben Poppers! Deep-fried until perfectly golden and served with thousand island sauce, these snacks are something you don't want to miss out on. They will only be available for Wednesday's match against St. Patrick's Athletic F.C., so make sure you get one before they're gone! Additionally, in celebration of St. Patrick's day, there will also be green beer available for fans 21+ at the Brew Hall, while supplies last.
Pop It and Drop It
Make sure to pop and drop the pop tabs from your canned beverages at Allianz Field. Collection bins for pop tabs are available throughout the stadium on the side of trash bins. In-Game Honorees and Activities
The pregame ceremony will include a double national anthem performance by Katie McMahan of both the U.S national anthem in English and Irish national anthem in Gaelic. Additionally, the St. Paul Police Department will be present as our Color Guard and Scott Kerssen will be honored as the SeatGeek Fan of the Game. There will also be many musical performances throughout the game from Brian Boru Irish Pipe and Drums, The Northerly Gales and the Hudson Irish Dance Academy. Still not enough? Baaary, the mascot of St. Paul’s Irish Fair, will also be there to add to the fun for the whole family.
