Game Central
International Friendly
After back-to-back road fixtures wrapping up June and starting out July, the Boys in Black and Blue are back home and launching into a stretch of four home games in just 10 days. The action kicks off with a club friendly, bringing international soccer to Allianz Field as the Loons host Holstein Kiel of 2. Bundesliga for the first time.
As the Loons prepare for a U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal matchup just 24 hours later, you can expect to see some fresh faces logging minutes on the pitch against Holstein Kiel, getting an opportunity to shine against this historic northern German club. (They’ve been around since 1900!) Holstein Kiel’s roster includes USMNT defender John Tolkin and Japanese national team striker (and lead scorer) Shuto Machino, among a slew of other talented players. Put shortly, this Black-and-Blue-Bundesliga matchup is one you won’t want to miss.
