Following the conclusion of MLS action this week, the league has announced that Minnesota United players Bongokuhle Hlongwane and Michael Boxall have been named to the Week 22 Team of the Week.

This recognition comes off of the back of stellar performances against Houston, a game that saw Hlongwane score his first MLS goal and add an assist on top of it. At the other end of the field, Boxall helped to make life difficult for the Dynamo, holding them to just 18% shot accuracy. Defensive discipline and a strong response to aerial threats from corners and crosses helped Boxall lock Houston’s attack up.

Both players put in fantastic shifts on Saturday, and their play all season has been steady and crucial to MNUFC's success. Bongi is the only Loon to play in all 22 matches this season, contributing a goal and four assists. His blistering pace and enterprising attacking play have made him a must-play player, either starting or subbing into every single game.

Boxall has only missed two league games this season, acting as the rock in the Minnesota United back line. His leadership and defensive awareness have been on another level recently, driving the team through this six-game unbeaten run. This is his second time earning TOTW honors this season, the first having been in Week 6.
