LAFC has been unstoppable in 2019 and can clinch the top playoff spot in the Western Conference depending on results during Week 26, while your Loons are hoping to bounce back from a loss at Atlanta United in the U.S. Open Cup final when the sides meet at Banc of California Stadium on Sunday night. LAFC rallied from an early two-goal deficit last Sunday at the Banc, but have still yet to beat their cross-city rival following a scintillating 3-3 draw with the LA Galaxy. Latif Blessing struck for a brace and Carlos Vela netted the equalizer before coming off in the second half with a leg injury. The Loons, even after a second-half rally, couldn't overcome a disastrous opening 16 minutes, falling to Atlanta in the Open Cup final at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Tuesday night. Robin Lod scored his first goal in black and blue two minutes into the second half, but it wasn't enough in the night. This is the first meeting between these clubs in 2019, as they'll also meet on Sept. 29 at Allianz Field.
