While the 2020 season is temporarily postponed, Minnesota United is providing free streams of past Loon Classics. The first is a matchup between Minnesota United and Sporting Kansas City in late 2019. The stream kicks off live at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, March 20.
Minnesota United get a second chance at securing a spot in the 2019 Playoffs against Sporting Kansas City at Allianz Field on September 25, 2019. A last minute goal for SKC snatched points away from Minnesota in the last meeting between the clubs at Children’s Mercy Park earlier in the season, however, the Loons handed Sporting KC a big loss in an Open Cup clash in Saint Paul on their way to the Open Cup Final. Riding an eight game unbeaten streak at Allianz Field, Minnesota United looks to lock up its first trip to the postseason in front of its home fans. Though not mathematically eliminated, SKC still could shake up the playoff race as it tried to snap a three-game losing streak and attempt to spoil the Loons’ playoff ambitions.
Due to MLS restrictions, the stream is only available for viewers within the Minneapolis-Saint Paul broadcast markets.
