Minnesota United receives league award recognition for the second-straight week as midfielder Sam Nicholson has been named to the MLS Team of the Week bench for Week 3. This is Nicholson’s first time receiving Team of the Week honors since coming to MLS.
Nicholson was a shining star out on the left wing for the Loons in the club’s home opener on Saturday against Chicago Fire. The Scottish midfielder scored the match-winner for MNUFC in the 66th minute, directing a cross past the goalkeeper with a header. He was dangerous all match, creating chances with 16 successful passes in Chicago’s half.
