Coming home on the back of a big win on the road against fellow expansion side Atlanta United, MNUFC needs another three points this Saturday to stay in playoff contention. Minnesota United is in good form recently, taking nine points of a possible twelve from its last four matches and will feel confident with the backing of another sellout crowd at TCF Bank Stadium.
FAN NOTE: Both northbound and southbound I-35W will be closed this weekend starting Friday night through Monday morning from HWY 62 - I-94.
Fan Appreciation Day
In recognition of the fans who have joined the team for its inaugural MLS season, Minnesota United FC is celebrating Fan Appreciation Day presented by Star Tribune for the team’s final regular season home match of the year on Saturday, October 7 when they face Sporting Kansas City. From the snowy home opener against Atlanta United to the team’s first win against Real Salt Lake to a recent string of matches with over 20,000 in attendance (including two sellouts), it’s the fans who have made the atmosphere and match day experience at TCF Bank Stadium the MVP of the Loons’ first MLS campaign.
The Gaffer Gnome package gets fans a ticket to the match and a limited edition Gaffer Gnome in the likeness of MNUFC Head Coach Adrian Heath. Standing seven inches tall, the gnome sports Heath’s standard match day apparel of white shirt and black slacks, plus a pointed hat in Minnesota blue.
