The first five home matches in the MLS era of MNUFC have been historic and entertaining affairs for fans and players alike. Following an opening loss to Atlanta, Minnesota has used the home support to turn its season around and create a winning atmosphere at TCF Bank Stadium. Here are five figures that stand out from those matches.

105,576 – Fans in Attendance


Over the course of the first five home matches, over 100,000 of the Loon faithful have filled TCF Bank Stadium and cheered on MNUFC. The #SnowOpener attracted over 35,000 fans to the University of Minnesota campus.

450 – Minutes Played by Calvo


The only player who has spent every minute on the pitch while at home is Francisco Calvo. The Costa Rican international and captain has been a mainstay in the Loons lineup through injuries, call-ups and substitutions.


157 – Ibson Passes in Opponent’s Half


Since he became a regular in the lineup, Ibson has been a hub for the Loons in the midfield. His ability to find gaps and move play from flank to flank or defense to offense has been a huge addition to MNUFC.

20 – Saves by Minnesota Goalkeepers


Goalkeepers Bobby Shuttleworth and John Alvbage have averaged four stops a match at home this year. Alvbage had two saves in the home opener against Atlanta United before he had to be subbed off due to injury. Shuttleworth is credited with the rest, including two clean sheets.

Goals, goals, goals! The Loons have been scoring machines at TCF Bank Stadium. Christian Ramirez leads the way with three on home turf, followed by a pair from Kevin Molino and singles from Johan Venegas, Abu Danladi and Miguel Ibarra.


The Loons are back home to face LA Galaxy at TCF Bank Stadium on Sunday, May 21. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN and 1500 ESPN, with pre-match coverage beginning on 1500 ESPN at 3:30 p.m.
