Supplemental Slots 21-24MNUFC selected Morris Duggan with the 67th overall pick of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft. After joining Marshall University’s team in 2022, the Munich, Germany native became a mainstay in the Herd’s defense. As a junior, Duggan appeared and started in all 19 of Marshall’s matches, totaling 1,558 minutes. In 2023, he was named captain and was part of a defense that recorded the most shutouts (11) during a single season.
His performances earned him the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award and First-Team All-Conference honors. Across his 37 total matches played with the Herd, the 23-year-old scored three goals and provided two assists. He was also named a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, alongside teammate Matthew Bell (Real Salt Lake).
In the 2024 season with Minnesota United, Duggan primarily played with MNUFC2, the club’s MLS NEXT Pro team. Duggan played and started in 12 matches during the regular season and made two appearances (both starts) in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with the second team.
Duggan made his MLS and MNUFC debut at Allianz Field as a substitute against FC Dallas on June 8, where Minnesota tied Dallas 1–1. The German defender also made his Leagues Cup debut as a substitute against Seattle Sounders FC and made the Starting XI against Club Necaxa.
For the remainder of the 2024 season, Duggan was loaned to Rhode Island FC of the USL Championship, where he made a total of 13 appearances.
Duggan returned to MNUFC for the 2025 season, where he made 30 appearances (23 starts) across all competitions and was crucial in helping anchor the defensive back line. He made his first MLS Playoff appearance in the second game of Round One against Seattle Sounders FC. Although Duggan added two assists, one proved crucial in the third game when he assisted Jefferson Diaz’s first club goal to tie the match for MNUFC.
