Huzzah! The curse is broken. Your Loons finally got their first win in Seattle this weekend, thanks in large part to the efforts of both Tani Oluwaseyi and Robin Lod. The pair of Loons stars got themselves onto the scoresheet in style on Sunday, equaling and extending records on their way to three points at Lumen Field.

Oluwaseyi’s brace in the second half brought the Loons’ leading goal scorer up to eight goals in 2025, matching his best-ever MLS goals tally from just a season ago. With half a season still to play, he’s got his sights set on a personal best, and he’s got plenty of time to get there. Both of his goals on Sunday showcased his natural striker’s instincts, arriving in the right place at the right time and having the wherewithal to capitalize on the chances he helped create. His ability to stretch defenses gave the Loons room to play in, making him a constant threat for this Loons side.

Like his fellow TOTMer, Lod came away from this weekend’s match with two goal involvements, notching both a goal and an assist during the eight-minute flurry of goals in the second half. His assist for the opening goal of the game tied him for the most regular-season assists in club history (33), and his calm conversion from the penalty spot saw him extend his lead in the club’s all-time goal-scoring charts (34), where he leads Bongokuhle Hlongwane (31) by just three goals. Talk about a club legend!

The Loons will now get a break in MLS play, with both Oluwaseyi and Lod among several stars taking their talents to their national teams in the coming weeks. We’ll be back in action on June 14, when MNUFC takes on newbies San Diego in another massive Western Conference matchup. Well done this weekend, boys; good luck on international duty!
