On Saturday, July 3, Minnesota United plays its annual Salute to Freedom game presented by Xcel Energy. This year, the Loons face off against the San Jose Earthquakes, and the event will feature several unique activations throughout the stadium. The Patriot Parachute Team, who are all veterans, will deliver the game ball to the officials and the national anthem will be performed by guitarist Jeremy Ylvisaker (Alpha Consumer, Cloak Ox, Andrew Bird). The L’Étoile Du Nord recipient will be Sergeant Patrick Sunderman of Farmington, Minnesota, who will be competing in this year’s Summer Olympics for Team USA.

As part of its title night, Xcel Energy will donate an allotment of tickets to local veterans through the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans.
