Minnesota United announced today the club will loan defender Noah Billingsley to Phoenix Rising FC of the USL Championship for the 2021 season.
The 23-year-old New Zealand international, originally a forward, made the move to defense in his junior year and started the last 36 games for the Gauchos, with one goal — a game-winner — and six assists in 2019. Billingsley was named to the 2018 All-Big West First Team, the 2018 All-Far West Region Team and the 2016 Big West All-Freshman Team. Billingsley spent the majority of the 2020 season on loan with the Las Vegas Lights FC of the USL Championship. He made his MLS and MNUFC debut in the final game of the 2020 regular season, November 8, against FC Dallas.
