MNUFC2 announced today that the club has recalled midfielder Roman Torres from his loan with Birmingham Legion of the USL Championship, effective immediately. Torres will be available for selection during today’s MNUFC2 home match against The Town FC at the National Sports Center Stadium in Blaine, Minnesota.

Roman Torres was Minnesota United’s first-round selection of the 2025 MLS SuperDraft (the 25th-overall pick) before he signed an MLS NEXT Pro contract with MNUFC2 in March. He was then loaned out to Birmingham Legion, with the right to recall included in the Loan Agreement. With the Legion, Torres made 13 game appearances across all competitions, and provided two assists.

Prior to joining MNUFC2, the midfielder played collegiately at Creighton University in 2024, making 17 appearances (all starts). In his lone season with the Bluejays, Torres recorded three goals and provided two assists, earning a spot on the All-BIG EAST Third Team for his standout performance. Prior to his time at Creighton, Torres played at Iowa Western Community College during the 2023 season, where he appeared in 12 matches and earned 10 starts.

The midfielder was notably one of only 44 invitees to participate in the 2024 adidas MLS College Showcase in San Diego.
