It will be a clash with familiar foes for some of Minnesota United players and staff when the team hosts Orlando City SC on Saturday night. Head Coach Adrian Heath, assistant coaches Ian Fuller and Mark Watson, midfielder Kevin Molino and goalkeeper Partick McLain all came to Minnesota from Orlando. Both clubs have a similar past, coming into the league as expansion clubs with an extensive lower-division resume. In their first two years in the league, the Lions have been on the cusp of making the postseason each year, and after a strong start to the season, look to be continuing that trend in 2017. Led by wonder-kid Cyle Larin, Orlando is deadly on offense, but recent results have seen the club slip in the standings.
Minnesota United is celebrating the LGBTQ community ahead of Pride Month by hosting Pride Night against Orlando SC this Saturday, May 27. MNUFC was the first professional sports team to sign the Athlete Ally pledge in October of 2014, demonstrating a commitment to equality and inclusiveness – two guiding principles that the club has carried forward with it into Major League Soccer.
Hats will be available for pick-up outside of TCF Bank Stadium from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and should be collected prior to entering the stadium. There will be a pick-up table next to the Carver County entrance where a ticket representative will be able to assist you. The Carver County entrance is located next to the main ticket office on the south side of the stadium. Please bring your valid Trucker Hat match ticket, along with a photo ID for pick-up. The individual who purchased the package must be present for pick-up.
