MNUFC Announce Promotional Schedule for 2024 MLS Season

Minnesota United announced today the Promotional Game schedule for the club’s 2024 MLS season.

Kicking off 2024, Minnesota United will begin their new season hosting the reigning 2023 MLS Cup champions, the Columbus Crew, for the 2024 Home Opener, presented by SeatGeek, on Saturday, March 2. MNUFC will celebrate, for the very first time, Black Excellence on Saturday, April 13 when the Loons face the Houston Dynamo. The club’s annual Mental Health Awareness game will be on Wednesday, May 15 against LA Galaxy and Pride, presented by Coors Light, will be on Saturday, June 8 when the Loons welcome FC Dallas to town. For the second season, Minnesota United will be celebrating Native American Heritage, presented by Grand Casino, as the Loons host the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, July 20.

NOTABLE MATCHES:

2024 Home Opener – March 2
Minnesota United will celebrate the 2024 Home Opener, presented by SeatGeek, in a matchup against the defending MLS Cup champions, the Columbus Crew.

International Friendly – March 20
Minnesota United will face St. Patrick’s Athletic FC of the League of Ireland Premier Division for an international friendly at Allianz Field, the 14th friendly contest that MNUFC has hosted.

Black Excellence – April 13
As a way to amplify powerful Black voices in our community, Minnesota United will be hosting its first ever Celebrate Black Excellence game at Allianz Field. The Loons will look to highlight local leaders, artists, foods and music from the Black community and culture which shapes our Twin Cities.

Mental Health Awareness – May 15
A leader in this space, Minnesota United will continue the conversation on the importance of prioritizing mental health through the club’s annual Mental Health Awareness Night. Utilizing resources from club partners and local community groups, MNUFC will share stories and celebrate one another during this game.

Pride – June 8
The Loons LOVE love. Minnesota United is focusing on amplifying the rich diversity that lives within the LGBTQ+ community. The club celebrates Pride all-year long, but Pride, presented by Coors Light, is a chance to highlight, reflect and spread awareness on the mission to protect queer and trans rights. Match activations include a game-worn jersey auction and added entertainment and experiences on the Lawn Layover.

Salute to Freedom – July 3
Minnesota United will be celebrating its Salute to Freedom, presented by Minnesota Lottery, as a tribute to those who have served our country. The club has several events planned throughout the day to honor active duty military members, veterans and their families.

Native American Heritage – July 20
With the help from local nonprofits that serve our Indigenous Peoples community, MNUFC is set to celebrate its second Native American Heritage game, presented by Grand Casino. Incorporating the song, dance, and cultural celebrations of our local tribes, the club and supporters will come together to acknowledge our history and the roots of our community.

Kick Childhood Cancer – September 18
In an effort to raise awareness for pediatric cancer, Minnesota United, alongside Major League Soccer and MLS Works, will recognize Kick Childhood Cancer throughout the month of September, including the September 18 match against FC Cincinnati. A Lawn Layover will take place pregame for fans to participate in a collection of activities.

Hispanic Heritage – September 28
Minnesota United will once again be honoring the multitudes of cultures that live within the Hispanic community, continuing to uplift the voices of the team and Twin Cities community. The Loons will celebrate with various Spanish-speaking elements with song, dance and more. Hispanic Heritage is presented by Xcel Energy.

Fan Appreciation – October 19
In the final home game of the regular season, Minnesota United will celebrate those who have supported the team all season long in a dedicated theme night, sponsored by Target. The celebrations will include fan giveaways, added entertainment and experiences on the Lawn Layover, and other activities ahead of the match against St. Louis CITY SC.

GROUP NIGHTS:

Minnesota United will host a multitude of group nights for the 2024 season. Tickets for group nights start at $32 can be purchased here and come with an MNUFC-branded item and a post-game “Shot-on-Goal” fan experience. See below for the first set of 2024 Group Nights:

  • Student Appreciation – Saturday, April 13 (Houston Dynamo)
  • Educator Appreciation – Saturday, April 27 (Sporting Kansas City)

LAWN LAYOVER, PRESENTED BY SUN COUNTRY:

Throughout the season, MNUFC fans and Allianz Field visitors will be invited to enjoy pregame festivities at the Lawn Layover presented by Sun Country. Lawn Layover is free to all and includes a live DJ, food trucks, MNUFC lawn games, and interactive Club partner games and giveaways. Prior to select MNUFC home games, there will be increased entertainment and interactive games to add to the Lawn Layover experience and MNUFC theme games. Lawn layover festivities will begin on May 15 and remain as an option for fans to attend for the remainder of the season before all league games. Beginning Saturday, June 1, every Saturday in the summer (June, July, August) will have even more entertainment and activations, as well as live performances, to take part in.
