Minnesota United Gives Back for the 2022 Holiday Season

Minnesota United today announced the club’s plans to give back to a variety of charitable organizations across the Twin Cities in the spirit of the holiday season. MNUFC is partnering with several local organizations to provide opportunities for fans, staff and community members to donate much-needed food and winter supplies as well offer a variety of volunteer opportunities starting this week and running through mid-December.

This Thursday, November 17, Minnesota United staff and mascot PK will be volunteering at two events. First, MNUFC will join TC Sol and their athletes at their annual TC Sol Thanksgiving Dinner at the Sabathani Community Center. As part of their programming, TC Sol encourages their athletes to give back to the families of the communities in which they play all year round. The club will donate warm weather gear.

Also, this Thursday MNUFC will join Second Harvest Heartland in their Pack to the Max Day. Currently one in 11 households in Minnesota file for food insecurity. Volunteers from Minnesota United will do their part in the fight against food insecurity by packing meals for families in need.

In conjunction with the club’s first World Cup watch party on Monday, November 21, Minnesota United is hosting a food drive at Allianz Field. The clubs is encouraging fans who attend the watch party to bring non-perishable food items. Those that do, will receive a 10-percent discount at the Black and Blue Team Store. All items will benefit The Sanneh Foundation and be delivered the next day, November 22 at the Sanneh Thanksgiving Drive. In addition to the items collected from the food drive, MNUFC will be donating turkeys and warm weather gear.

New this year, the club will host its first ‘Kitman Sale’ at the National Sports Center. MNUFC will be selling new and unused gear collected over the years from the First Team and the Academy. All proceeds will be donated to NAMI Minnesota - helping spread awareness and resources for mental health during the holiday season. The ‘Kitman Sale’ kicks off on Friday, December 2 and goes to Sunday, December 4. Friday will only be open to Minnesota United Season Ticket Members. The sale will be open to the public beginning Saturday, December 3 at 10:00 a.m. CT.

December 2 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. CT
December 3 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. CT
December 4 from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. CT

For the second year in a row, Minnesota United will volunteer and donate presents to the CLUES annual event, Al Niño con Cariño. The event, which offers gifts and cheer to families, will take place on Friday, December 9. Volunteers will help decorate, wrap gifts and distribute toys to registered families.

The week of December 12 – 17, Minnesota United is hosting the club’s annual Winter Supply Drive at Allianz Field. The club encourages fans to bring any of the following items to the Black and Blue Store during this time. Those who donate will receive a 10-percent discount on any purchase. Gently used and new jackets, hats, scarves, gloves, long underwear, wool socks and handwarmers are all accepted. All items will be delivered to Open Hands Midway the following week.

Lastly, to wrap up the season, Minnesota United and Bell Bank distributed the winnings of the Bell Bank Man of the Match program, totaling more than $35,000 throughout the season. This season’s biggest winners were VOYCENOW, Special Olympics Minnesota, Mississippi Park Connection and Keystone Community Services.
