Minnesota United will celebrate PRIDE throughout the month of June. The club will have a presence at several PRIDE events in June:
- Sports Night at Lush on June 16
- PRIDE Dabbler at the Walker Art Center on June 24
- PRIDE Festival at Loring Park June 25 – 26.
- PRIDE Parade on June 26
In addition to participating in PRIDE events through the Twin Cities, the club will also be giving back to the PRIDE Community. The Adidas PRIDE Pre-Game Top, PRIDE collection, captain’s armband and PRIDE specialty items will be available to purchase at the Black and Blue Team Store with a Register Round-Up. A portion of all PRIDE proceeds will go to RECLAIM, an organization that increases access to mental healthcare so queer and trans youth may reclaim their lives from oppression in all its forms. RECLAIM is a resource where queer and trans youth ages 12-25 can get financially accessible, specialized mental health care. Additionally, RECLAIM provides individual, family, group, and couples counseling to folks who are seeking support with identity development as it relates to sexual orientation, gender identity, and/or gender expression.
The Pre-Game Top will be worn in all Minnesota United games throughout the month of June, which first debuted in the club’s international friendly against SC Paderborn. The one exception being the match at New England Revolution on June 19, which will celebrate Juneteenth and Honor Black Excellence. The PRIDE specialty numbers and captain’s armband will be worn for MNUFC’s annual PRIDE Game on Saturday, July 30 at 2:00 p.m. CT against Portland Timbers. These game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off following the MNUFC PRIDE match, with the proceeds benefitting RECLAIM. Additional details surrounding this game to come.
