A relentless and persistent MNUFC2 offense attacked the home side LAFC2 all night, but was not able to score a goal in Wednesday night’s narrow 1-0 loss at Titan Stadium. The Twos regroup ahead of a home match on Saturday, June 28 against Colorado Rapids 2.

2’ - The hosts, LAFC2, quickly created a dangerous chance when Jude Terry gained possession deep inside of the MNUFC2 goalkeeper’s box and sent a quick tap-in shot towards goal. But, defenders Kipp Keller and Britton Fischer were on the line with goalkeeper Kayne Rizvanovich and ultimately made the stop.

13’ - MNUFC2 nearly broke through when forward Logan Dorsey, who dribbled past a defender on the right flank, sent a long cross into LAFC2’s six-yard box. That cross connected with fellow forward Luke Hille, whose header toward the near left post missed just wide.

16’ - Minnesota defender Kipp Keller sent a long ball into LAFC2’s defending third which connected with Hille. The Southern California goalkeeper went to make a challenge on that cross when Hille beat him and sent a header flying towards the goal, when it took one bounce on the grass, then hit the crossbar and bounced back into play and was ultimately cleared.

21’ - Off a set piece play, the Twos yet again saw another close scoring chance fall just short. Midfielder Curt Calov sent the ball into LAFC2’s box, where Keller went in for a diving header that landed barely wide of the left post.

38’ - After a series of successful touches and passes atop MNUFC2’s box, the home side finally found space and Kairo Walters took a close-range shot, but was saved by Rizvanovich to keep the score even at 0-0.

40’ (0-1) - Shortly after the previous chance, Tommy Mihalic sent a quick one-touch pass to Marius Aiyenero, who tapped a shot past Rizvanovich to take the 1-0 lead.

51’ - Curt Calov took another direct free kick after earning a foul approximately 20 yards from the LAFC2 goal line. His shot bent towards the upper-left post, where the home keeper Cabral Carter made the diving save.

68’ - The Twos yet again had another dangerous opportunity stifled by LAFC2 when Anderson Farris sent a quick touch following a give-and-go moment with Muba Nour. Nour’s shot at close range was stopped by a Black & Gold field player on the goal line.

77’ - Rizvanovich stopped a fast-paced LAFC2 attack, saving a strike from Jude Terry to keep the home team’s lead at only one goal.
