Loons Earn Team of the Week Honors

Team of the Week Week 13

For the second time this season, MNUFC will have players feature in back-to-back MLS Teams of the Week. Romain Metanire takes a spot in the Week 13 lineup and Brent Kallman features on the bench.

Metanire makes his fourth appearance of the season in the Team of the Week, and first set of consecutive appearances, last earning a spot in Week 12. The Madagascar international scored his first MLS goal, and eventual game-winner, in the Loons’ win over Houston Dynamo last weekend. He played a major role in keeping the fifth clean sheet of the season, tying the club’s single-season MLS record.

Kallman makes his first appearance on a Team of the Week in 2019. He shut down the middle of the field for MNUFC, preventing Houston from getting any easy chances in the 1-0 result at Allianz Field. The Woodbury native made four headed clearances and a key interception defensively. He also acted as a distribution hub, connecting nine long balls and 14 passes in the Dynamo half, three of which were in the offensive third.
