The Loons have officially returned to league play, and they have done so in dominant fashion. In their first game back, MNUFC took down NYCFC on the road with a shutout 0-2 win. Now, the boys in black and blue return to Minnesota to take on the Seattle Sounders. Currently, the Sounders are in a bit of a slump, failing to score in three of their last five matches. However, the Sounders aren't a team that stays down for long, and they have one of the strongest away records in the West. With only five points currently separating the 9th-place Loons and the 4th-place Sounders, there's plenty to play for as the 2023 playoff race heats up. In-Game Honors
The pregame ceremony will include a national anthem performance by Monique Blakey, recognition of Itasca Society Member Catherine Hopen as our SeatGeek Fan of the Game and JoJo Latterel as the Allina Health Honorary Scoreboard Keeper for the game. Matthew will also be featured as our Gillette Game Ball Delivery Kid. At halftime, the club will honor Jametta Raspberry, Executive Director of Roots for the Home Team, as the L'Etoile du Nord. Additionally, Ryan Wilson, will be honored as the Xcel Energy Eye of the Loon.
