In their most recent match, the boys in Black and Blue fell for the first time this season against the Philadelphia Union. Philly opened the scoring with a goal from Dániel Gazdag in the 16th minute. The Loons looked for a goal to even things out and almost succeeded with another connection between Tani Oluwaseyi and Bongokuhle Hlongwane in the second half, but it was quickly called back for an initial offside infringement. The Union then closed things out with a second and final goal from Julián Carranza in the 84th minute, securing the win for the home team. Now, the Loons look to pick things back up against Real Salt Lake, a side that has had a similar level of success this season. The two teams sit in third and fourth place in the Western Conference with an identical 10 points accumulated. With just a single goal advantage in goal difference giving RSL sole possession of third place, a win would bump MNUFC back up to the top three at a minimum. In-Game Honors
The pregame ceremony will include a national anthem performance by Joseph Kastner, as well as recognition of Lindsey Karvonen as our SeatGeek Fan of the Game and Rebekah Ferguson-Shand as the Allina Health Honorary Scoreboard Keeper for the game. At halftime, the club will honor Kristie Royce as the L'Étoile du Nord and Chad Boegeman as the Xcel Energy Eye of the Loon.
