Leagues Cup Phase One

Leagues Cup is back at Allianz Field for another midweek fixture, the last of the Phase One matchups for the Loons. After an exhilarating 3-3 draw against Liga MX’s Club América, the Loons just barely missed out on the extra point in a shootout that went all the way to eight PKs. Now they face Atlético de San Luis, who have so far lost 4-0 to Portland and drawn against Real Salt Lake, securing the extra point in a 4-2 shootout. They still have a chance, but at 13th on the Liga MX side of the table, advancement is unlikely. Will they be playing their best lineup or prioritizing return to regular Apertura play next week?

A win and a draw puts the Black and Blue just above the qualifying line for quarterfinals, meaning this final group stage matchup is the make-or-break for Minnesota. Tied in fourth with five other MLS clubs, the Loons are maintaining their place by tiebreakers of goal differentials and scoring. A continued Leagues Cup run is within reach for your Loons, but it all comes down to Wednesday night, where they’ll need a win by a good margin to keep their seat in the next round.

Before You Leave

  • Plan your route to the stadium by reading up on our parking and transit options. Be aware of active construction on I-94.
  • Get your parking pass in advance via SeatGeek.com to guarantee your spot and save time at the lots.
  • Check out our clear bag policy so you don’t have to stash your bag in a bush!
  • Reminder that you CAN bring empty, clear, plastic water bottles into the stadium. If your water bottle doesn’t meet that standard, you’ll have to leave it at home. Even if it’s made of 100% pure titanium and can be taken to the bottom of the ocean, it can’t be taken into Allianz Field.
  • Bring your card. Allianz Field is a cashless facility.

As part of a stadium-wide water sustainability effort in partnership with Ecolab, MNUFC has six water bottle refill stations around the concourse sections 9, 15, 21, 25, 30, and 36. Bring in empty, clear plastic bottles to use at the water stations. They're not sensor activated, so make sure to press the button to save the planet and your dignity.
