2018 Season Home Opener

2018 Schedule

Fans in the Twin Cities will get their first chance to catch their Loons at TCF Bank Stadium on Saturday, March 17 when MNUFC faces the Chicago Fire for a St. Patrick’s Day tilt.

The last time MNUFC met the Fire it was in Chicago back on August 26 when the Loons notched their first road win in MLS on the strength of a brace from then-rookie forward Abu Danladi. It was Danladi’s third match-winning goal of the season and moved MNUFC to 4-0 when he scored.

“I am beyond excited to open our 2018 MLS home campaign on March 17,” said MNUFC CEO Chris Wright. “This will be my first home opener with MNUFC and with the increase in our season ticket base, I am expecting us to pick up where we left off last season and create an incredible atmosphere at TCF Bank Stadium. We want this match to set the tone for the season.”

After opening its inaugural MLS season on the road against the Portland Timbers, MNUFC will start 2018 with a trip to the West Coast to face the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, March 3 in a match that will kick off at 9:30 p.m. CT. Minnesota United will also face the Portland Timbers for their home opener when the Timbers unveil the expansion of Providence Park on Saturday, April 14.
