Career Summary

Minnesota United signed MNUFC2 forward Darius Randell to a First Team contract as a Homegrown player through 2026, with club options for 2027 and 2028. The 18-year-old forward becomes Minnesota United’s fourth Homegrown player in club history. Randell’s pathway to the professional ranks began at the youth level with Boreal Football Club, continued with the MNUFC Academy (MLS NEXT), and progressed through MNUFC2 (MLS NEXT Pro) before earning a contract with the MNUFC First Team (MLS).

Randell earned four Short-Term Agreements with the First Team in 2025. He was made available for selection against LA Galaxy on March 22 before making his First Team debut on May 7, where he started and scored in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 match at Louisville City SC. He then featured in several additional matches before making his MLS debut on June 14 at Allianz Field against San Diego FC. In that match, Randell notably became the youngest player in MNUFC’s MLS-era history to appear and score in a match (all competitions) at 17 years and 255 days old.

The forward signed his first professional contract with MNUFC2 in August 2024 and has since made 53 appearances across all competitions (MLS NEXT Pro and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup), scoring seven goals. During the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro campaign, he recorded four goals and one assist in over 1,190 minutes of action across all competitions. Randell previously spent two seasons with the MNUFC Academy, beginning as a defender with the U15 squad in 2022 before transitioning to a winger role and playing up with the U17 and U19 teams from 2023–24.

INTERNATIONAL: Randell earned his first call-up to the U.S. Youth National Team U19 training camp in January 2026.
