Justin Ferguson
Biography
Justin Ferguson was named Head of Methodology for Minnesota United FC in January 2025, after originally joining the club’s technical staff in February 2021. He oversees the club's training methodology, style of play, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs); leads coach development; designs curriculum for the Alliance Program, the club's free local coach education initiative; and hosts the annual Coaches Symposium. Ferguson also serves as a U.S. Soccer Federation Coach Educator, teaching the A-License course.
Previously, Ferguson served as Assistant Coach for MNUFC2 in MLS NEXT Pro and spent over three years as Head Coach of the MNUFC U17 MLS NEXT team. Throughout his time in Minnesota, he has overseen the development process for players signed to MNUFC and MNUFC2, as well as those who have transitioned to college soccer.
Before joining Minnesota United, Ferguson spent five years on the men’s soccer staff at the University of Cincinnati, serving as Assistant Coach before his promotion to Associate Head Coach in 2019. Ferguson holds a USSF Senior-A License and a master’s degree in Sport Science and Pedagogy.
